Ground-Based Equipment - MLS Portable Generator
reciever_imgThe PMG (Portable Measurement Generator) is intended to be used by all technical staff involved in MLS technology. It simulates with extremely high accuracy the signal available on an MLS-equipped airfield. All the parameters of the MLS sequence can be modified via the keyboard or the ARINC 429 interface: angles, clearances, OCI, as well as the levels or the content of data words.

These unique features make it indispensable for the design, tuning and hands-off testing of MLS receivers.

Other users appreciate it for the calibration of station monitors and/or portable measurement receivers (PMR).

Because of its rugged construction, it can withstand frequent displacements, shocks, or drops, and can resist harsh environments (FAA-G2100e). It meets most of the technical requirements specified by Annex 10 of the ICAO document.

Although the PMG is a highly sophisticated piece of equipment, its software is easy to use and its design is ergonomic; it requires only one key sequence to alter the simulation.

It has an internal battery and charger which make it fully autonomous. The PMG is equipped with an ARINC429 interface which enables remote control by a PC (very useful when used on an automatic test bench).

The PMG includes an internal reference which guarantees level accuracy. Moreover the unit can send a patented test sequence enabling the PMR to test itself and perform automatic calibration of its level measurement.
